Description:
Panforte: “Panforte” is a typical cake from medieval times, created in the city of Siena, in Tuscany.
It was made with new flavors, which were introduced when spices arrived to Italy from the east.
It is a rich substantial cake, which has become one of Tuscany’s, and maybe even Italy’s, feature cakes.
PANFORTE NERO:
using the same ingredients as in the panforte Margherita, the panforte
Nero ("nero" means black in Italian) is slightly bitter and spicy.
Caramelized sugar and honey are used and the outcome is a perfection for people who enjoy the sweetness of bitterness.
Ingredients:
almonds, sugar, candied melon & orange peeling, flour, honey,
Tuscan spices, cocoa, natural flavorings, starch & wafer.
