While not as well-known as its predecessor Fontina, Fontal is well deserving of its place among Italy’s classic cheeses. Made from pasteurized cow’s milk Fontal is semi-firm and creamy in texture. It is a versatile cheese for cooking as it melts beautifully, and its mild flavor blends with a variety of ingredients. It is also a fantastic table cheese appealing to a wide range of palates.
